Food made with love and served with pride since 1967.
Since the original owner of Dino's Seafood, Dino Balderelli, established business in North Haven, CT, in 1967, family has been the key ingredient.
In fact, one of the current owners, Bob Fritz, took a second job in 1976 to work with Dino as a line cook to help pay for his sons' private educations. And then, some 20-years ago, when Dino decided to retire, he took over the business because of the affinity he felt for everyone who worked there, not to mention for how the food was made, for what it brought to his life, and for the joy it gave to the restaurant's extended family -- the guests.
He and his son, Chris, from day one of ownership, have never given less than one-hundred percent to provide good 'ol fashioned seafood in tandem with an experience beaming in gratitude and the hope that it brings an authentic smile of satisfaction to their guests' faces and hearts.
From creating the recipes and famous batter of their delicious fried seafood to cooking every order with love, (whether it be their re-nowned split hot dog or highly tauted lobster roll and whole belly clams), Bob and his son Chris, as well as, the entire staff work together with a 'family' respect and collaborative enthusiasm .
And while the home of the Dino's Seafood on Route 5 is a bit worn and weathered with age, history, hard-work, and lots of grilling and frying, Bob and Chris, are working hard to keep the business vital.
Standing firmly behind the high quality and taste of their seafood, hot dogs and hamburgers, even believing their fried seafood to be the best in the state, they are working to expose Dino's Seafood to a whole new generation of guests in the greater New Haven County.
Even though they take to heart the notion that you don't fix what isn't broken, they do believe some risk-taking is significant to growth and greater opportunity. Consequently, Bob and Chris, after taking stock and listening to guests, staff, and family, have been making changes lately:
Adding new menu items and changing recipes (Fritters, Remoulades, Chowder),
Making the take-out dining area homier and cuter (just ask our regulars about the colorful lobster/crab table clothes and cute dinner baskets)
Cruise Nights every Saturday with DJ John Rozz
Reaching out to their beloved local community even more (fundrasiers and raffles for the police/fire department).
